Trinity Catholic Academy Participates in the "Friends Feeding Families" Campaign
November 15, 2010

Nicki Meade Draves, Development Coordinator for Catholic Charities South, was overwhelmed at the number of donations from the students at Trinity Catholic Academy in Brockton from their recent food drive to help stock the local Catholic Charities South food pantry as part of the "Friends Feeding Families" Campaign. Seventh grade students, under the direction of teacher Sarah Vendetti, ran a food drive as part of Trinity Catholic Academy's Community Service program to help Catholic Charities meet their goal of 50,000 bags of food for their pantries by December 31, 2010. "Friends Feeding Families" is a Catholic Charities campaign designed to raise both funds and awareness about Basic Needs Emergency Services which provides food, fuel, rent, and mortgage assistance to individuals and families in need throughout Eastern Massachusetts. Students at Trinity donated over 80 bags of groceries. Ms. Draves along with J. Larry Mayes, Vice-President of Catholic Charities, spoke to the students thanking them for their hard work and answered their questions about the food drive and the other services Catholic Charities provides.
